Broke but looking good 1 day before our wedding

During the month of May 2008, my wife and I decided that we needed to get out of debt.  We had just returned from an overseas assignment in China.  We decided that my wife would stay home with our 1 year old and get everything ready for our second child (she was pregnant again).  Without her income, we needed a way to make ends meet.  Pizza delivery is what Dave Ramsey has been talking about for years so I decided to give it a try.

Delivering was bring in some much needed cash but we just weren’t getting anywhere. It wasn’t until we decided to seek the help of a professional that we were able to put a plan together and really start making some headway on our debt.  I can’t stress enough, the benefits of having a written plan.  I know nobody likes the word BUDGET, but if I would have had one years ago I would not be working 2 jobs to pay down $101,000 worth of debt.  Yep, I got a gold star in the STUPID column.  Our target date for paying off everything but the house is August 2011.  It’s a long way off, but our children are counting on us to do it.
