Net Worth – February 2010

March 2, 2010 · 11 comments

Hello everyone, it’s March 2010 and time to update the net worth again. This month was a very good one for us, over $10,321 added to our bottom line. Uncle Sam was kind enough to send a check with some money typed on it. We put the whole amount into our 2nd mortgage. The 2nd mortgage is the debt we are currently snowballing. As we go through the debt reduction process my wife and I are finding it much easier. We are able to pay down more and more every month and watching the balances come down is all the motivation we need. Next month will not have gains as large as this one, but the needle is moving in the right direction. We also will be celebrating another milestone this month, two years without using a credit card. We stopped using them long before we started blasting away the debt, which was the key to stopping the bleeding.

Net Worth Snapshot:

Emergency Fund: Holding at $1,000 we will be adding to it this coming month.

401K: A little better than last month. It feels great to be adding money every pay check again. Once the debt is gone, this will skyrocket :-)

Car: Lost a little more on the KBB value, oh well at least it’s paid for :-) .

House: This will remain the same until June 2010.

Snowball: Super Duper good news on this one. We are almost going to break into the $60,000. It feels awesome to be making great progress. Our tax return added a nice chunk of change to the bottom line this month, but it will be the last time for that. I’ve adjusted our tax withholdings so we will not be getting a huge return next year. I would rather have the money in my hand every month to apply toward our debt. If you missed it last week, here’s the post on how to adjust tax withholdings.

Yes Ma’am “HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE” by the way, busting a move is one of my favorite activities to pass the time :-) I’m thinking of making the PF Hustle a new dance that everyone does during weddings, haha

Good for you, and a solid positive change for the month. At that rate it won’t be too long before Stephanie PTY takes back the top of the Wealthy Blogger list.

Thanks Kyle, I have my sights set on Stephanie :-) I also don’t want to be the one who brings down the overall totals for the Wealthy blogger list. I’d hate to see the name of the list changed to “Wealthy Bloggers Minus DeliverAwayDebt”

Wow, that’s a HUGE change in Net Worth and it looks like you put a big dent in that debt. You’re going to need more than an abacus to calculate it.. Congratulations!

Haha thanks Daniel. Maybe I can step up to a pocket calculator to start figuring it out :-) I don’t think I have enough fingers and toes.

Wow, Jeff. You’re super lightening debt payoff speed is going great. You’re really an inspiration to us all knowing that you are working your ass off delivering pizzas to make your family’s life better. Not to mention your wife doing a great job raising those kids! Thanks Money Funk,

I’m glad it’s going well, I’m just so sick of being in debt. Uncle Sam helped out this month but I’m on track for another good month in March, fingers are crossed :-) Yeah, my wife is a wonderful woman and does a great job with the kids, thank for saying that.
