Just over 5 months ago Financial Samurai proposed a challenge on his blog called Creating Powerful Friends: Samurai’s Alexa Ranking Challenge. The challenge was to see how much a blogger could improve their Alexa ranking. I won’t go into a lot of detail about it here, let’s just say a huge crew of bloggers have joined together to help promote personal finance around the World Wide Web. As you know, personal finance is a HUGE niche and there MANY great blogs dedicated to helping people improve their finances.
What’s a Yakezie (Ya-Key-Z)?
The Yakezie is a group of personal finance bloggers who work together to provide great content for their readers, while exposing them to many other resources around the web. The main focus areas of the group include; Budgeting, Frugality, Debt, Retirement, Lifestyle, Investing, Saving, College, Cars, Motivation, Wealth Building and just about anything else you can think of relating to Personal Finance.
Understanding the List
Listed below you will see 96 different blog names. Next to each name is the Alexa ranking of the blog taken on June 3, 2010. The ranking varies from day to day. Most of the blogs are also listed in the Wisebread Top 100+ Personal Finance Blogs so you’ll see that rank included as well. Below each blog’s name is a post containing a money saving tip. There are over 600 money saving tips included in the 96 blog posts. You are sure to find at least 10 tips that you can use to improve your financial position.
Example: #16 DeliverAwayDebt (86,977 Alexa – #63 Wisebread) 16 is my ranking in the Yakezie Challenge, 86,977 is my Alexa ranking and DeliverAwayDebt is ranked 63 on theWisebread list.
