Welcome to the Yakezie Challenge Carnival. The Yakezie Challenge was founded by Financial Samurai in order to help the average blogger to reach new heights. At the writing of this carnival their are 44 proud members of the group. Please visit the original post from The Samurai – Creating Powerful Friends: Samurai’s Alexa Ranking Challenge.
I’ve ordered the carnival from highest Alexa ranking to lowest. I think we should help out those higher in the group as much as we can. If you can’t get to all the articles listed below, please at least make it to #35 before leaving. These are the ones who can really use our help. If you are one of the blog owners from #44 to #35, get busy posting on your site. Also get busy guest posting on sites with lower rankings. Looking through all the comments on Financial Samurai, Sweating the Big Stuff, and Evolution of Wealth I think everyone here is open to help out.
I would like to send out a special thanks to Evolution of Wealth for hosting the Sunday Link Rodeo this past Monday. It was in the comments that everyone decided to have this Carnival. Another thanks goes to Eliminate the Muda for designing the Yakezie Badges, get one here. One last thanks to Financial Samurai and Sweating the Big Stuff for helping to put the Yakezie on coarse to kick butt. For the most current rankings, you can visit the Samurai Alexa Ranking Challenge Page for daily updates.
I hope everyone enjoys the Carnival. Next weeks Yakezie Challenge Carnival will be hosted by CJ Bowker
PS it’s 3:22 in the morning, I’ve just finished checking all the links. Some how I lost all my text widgets from my side bars. I apologize if the site doesn’t look perfect, I’ll have to fix it later – I hope

Thanks for the mention Jeff… you make me look like a slacker! I only did half this week and will do the other half next week!
.-= Ryan @ Planting Dollars´s last blog ..Why Ideas are Like Sperm =-.
Ryan, I really don’t think the word Slacker can be used in the same area code as you. You have done such a great job in only 2 plus months, you are an inspiration to me.
Kompai! The Yakezi Carnival is up and running. Thanks for the effort Jeff.
.-= LeanLifeCoach´s last blog ..Aldi – My New Favorite Store =-.
@LeanLifeCoach NO – thank YOU for making the badges. They look great!!
Jeff:
Carnival looks awesome, thank you for putting in the time. I hope you got some sleep last night. Thank you for the shout outs as well. We should all be thanking Financial Samurai for starting the trend and Sweating the Big Stuff for getting things rolling. Now I just got to find some time to start commenting.
.-= Evolution Of Wealth´s last blog ..Pricing Your Disability Insurance =-.
@Evolution I completely agree with thanking Sam and Daniel. I’m very glad you took the wheel last week and put together the first complete roundup, Thank you sir
Thanks for the link! This has been so much fun for me. I love talking with other pf bloggers.
.-= Mrs. Money´s last blog ..Where have all the Housewives Gone? =-.
@Mrs. Money I love the interaction that we all have now. Not that we didn’t before, but I meet a lot of great people blogging and this group just takes the cake.
Oh wow Jeff thanks for staying up so late and doing this! I remember pinging you at around 1am EST. Great initiative in going in reverse order! I hope your actions will inspire those at the very bottom to do just the same.
Best, Sam

@Financial Samurai I hope as a group that we can help EVERYBODY. I believe that is the single most important part of the group.
Thanks so much Jeff! I’ve never been so close to the top of a list:) I want to say a personal “thank you” as well, your comments (and guest post @Fiscal Fizzle) this week, were the right motivation at exactly the right time.
.-= Stay at Home Mom CFO´s last blog ..Weekly Round-Up – Snowed In (AGAIN!) Edition =-.
@Stay at Home Mom you are very welcome. Don’t worry, if I see you whining again you can bet I will be there to kick your butt. I promise. We have all lost our way from time to time, but now you have 44 others that will be there for support
Love the layout of this Jeff, and appreciate the hard work you put into it.
Your own progress has been pretty remarkable in the last few weeks — dropping 600,000 places! Well done!
@Monevator Thank you sir. I’ve been happy with my progress so far. I sure as hell didn’t think I could move that much so quickly.
I hope all is well with you our overseas Yakezie
Pretty good thanks — missed being out of the time zone for the hockey earlier though, yet now I’ve woken up in the middle of the night!
I blame the draw of the Yakezie!
.-= Monevator´s last blog ..Buffett: Why the property bubble bursting was a good thing =-.
Monevator, it’s like you live half way around the world or something. Oh wait you do
I’m glad you joined the crew, I’m not sure I would have found you otherwise.
Cheers,
Jeff
Dude, you nailed this… and continue to impress. Keep up the great work.
.-= Matt Jabs´s last blog ..Simple Family Budget Spreadsheet =-.
@Matt I’m glad I was reading all the comments yesterday, otherwise I might have missed your entrance into the crew. I’m glad you are here and you continue to one of the first blogs I check out every morning. I know neither of us like Michigan State much, but have you seen the USA hockey goalie? Makes me proud to be from Michigan
Nice roundup. I joined the challenge yesterday and added the badge to my blog. I look forward to working and interacting with everyone. I’ve found a bunch of new blogs to add to my RSS reader.

Hi Ted, I’m glad you enjoyed the list. Head on over to the original post on Financial Samurai and take the plunge.
I am so glad this carnival is going to be a permanent fixture in the Yakezie Group! I for one and a proud member! Thanks for the badges Muda.
Thanks Jeff for putting this together, I just want to know one thing—when am I going to be hosting this SWEET carnival?
I am currently at 206,707, so I plan to bust right past 200,000 by Wednesday easily!
.-= Brad Chaffee´s last blog ..Manage Your Money Pre-Challenge Post: On Paper On Purpose =-.
You’re almost there Brad, great job. Head over to the comments on the Rodeo from Evolution of Wealth and look for the next opening for the carnival. I think it’s the last week in March or early April.
Has anyone else tried using the Wordpress SOE plugin Scribe? It is AWESOME! I highly recommend you at least check it out. It is a too I will no longer do without!
.-= Brad Chaffee´s last blog ..Feeling Like You Are Bankrupt, Is Different Than Actually Being Bankrupt =-.
I signed up for Scribe on Friday. I can’t wait to use it to optimize all my older posts. It looks awesome, now I just need time to use it.
It is awesome but pretty time consuming if you plan to update older stuff. I don’t really understand meta tags and keywords and blah blah blah but maybe now I’ll actually learn it.
.-= Brad Chaffee´s last blog ..It’s Your Money, YOU Spend It! =-.
Write a post about Scribe and let us know Jeff! I have no idea about that stuff too, just the basics. There’s a fee right?
Maybe you can write a “why sign up for scribe” or “how to post” for the Yakezies and others!
Dang, lotsa activity here! Nice! Hope those who’ve been listed and haven’t interacted much start getting more active!
.-= Samurai´s last blog ..“The Snark Handbook” Book Review And Giveaway =-.
You can sign up for the free trial. I think they give you 10 evaluations. Definitely a cool concept. Sounds like they might still be working out a few bugs. I’ve done a couple and it’s already taught me some good stuff.
.-= CJ Bowker´s last blog ..What do you do? =-.
I buy the advanced version of Scribe on Friday. At the time the price was $27 per month. It’s now jumped up to $97 for the advanced version which gets you 300 reviews per month. Most of us will not need that many, but the price was right at the time. Even if you only use it for a month or two, I think the lessons learned will be worth it. I learn by doing, and it helps you DO the changes – that’s my favorite part of the plug-in. I’m not sure about the free trial, I don’t see it on the site anymore
but that doesn’t mean I know what I’m talking about
Good luck putting together the post for Sunday, it’s a ton of fun my friend…
Ok Sam, I’m going to play with scribe this week and see what happens. My goal is to rework two of my popular posts; How to create sinking funds and How to adjust tax withholdings. I get many few hits from google everyday on these posts. I’m going to study the effects from using scribe to revamp the posts and see what gains I get. If nothing else, the plug-in makes you really think about SEO when writing. I’ve already learned some cool stuff from it.
Thanks for mentioning my post! This is all good stuff. I love this challenge, it is really increasing my traffic. I’m committed to posting intelligent articles! Thanks again!
.-= Little House´s last blog ..Wonderful Passive Income =-.
You’re welcome, that’s the whole point of the group. Good luck my friend.
Wow Crazy Round Up! I am going to read EACH one tonight (and visit with my alexa toolbar LOL).
.-= Evan´s last blog ..Picking Dividend Aristocrat Stocks =-.
That’s a lot of reading tonigh Evan. It took me quite a while to read them all yesterday.
Awesome roundup! I need to go through the list and make sure I have everyone in mine.
Hi Craig thanks for stopping by. Good luck with your posts this week, I look forward to reading them.
Thanks Jeff for staying up late (until the wee hours of the morning!) to put this post up! (much much appreciated!) Thanks for mentioning me too, I feel so special to be included in this Yakezie group! I hope to host the carnival as well in the future- it’d be fun to take turns.
Lots of great reads to add to my RSS feeds for sure. =)
.-= youngandthrifty´s last blog ..If You Had a Million Dollars… =-.

Thanks for the Yakezie roundup, I’m psyched to be working with such great people and bloggers in this challenge. I’m also happy to be making progress! I hope to write up a guest post or two for consideration.
.-= RainyDaySaver´s last blog ..Saturday Link Love: Another Nor’easter Edition =-.
Hi Rainy Day, I love working with this crew too. I been reading some of them for a while, its awesome to be working together with them.
Okay I’ve read them all, commented as best I could. It’s taken me a while so I’m done for the night. Great group and definitely some fun posts to read. I need to write some now…anyone know how to put more time in the day?
.-= Evolution Of Wealth´s last blog ..Pricing Your Disability Insurance =-.
Wow, great work Jeff! I’ll be reading these in the morning. Lots of blog work to do but plenty of time to do it. I’ve already moved several MILLION places in the Alexa rankings since we started & gonna keep movin’ up!
Jason, keep up the super duper work. Moving several million places is awesome. I still think of Dr. Evil every single time I see the word MILLION though. Thanks for making me smile this morning. Have fun reading all the great posts today.
Hi Jeffrey,
Thanks for the roundup. This looks good. I must say that it’s very inspirational of you to work your way out of the debt despite the bad employment market (or lack thereof). And the money is really good too. Keep up the good work!

Great job, this is definitely the way it should be done. Who’s up next? Did someone say that were putting together a carnival so we could make it less ad-hoc?

An absolute fantastic bit of work, I’m thinking up some automation as well to help all of us, I’ll keep you posted on that one but I for one appreciate this serious bit of work. BTW if I didn’t mention before I LOVE!!! Guest posts, it’s always nice to get a different voice on there and happy to help out anyone who needs it just as I have been helped. Cheers!

Hats off to you!
I’m sure this took a long time to compile, and will continue to get longer in the future…
Great Job!
Your are right Money Reasons, the list is growing VERY quickly. It took a long time to compile the post because I took my sweet old time reading every post. I’m not the fastest reader, but I sure do love reading
Wow! Kudos for putting this together! Nice job Jeff. I just joined the Challenge, so I look forward to being included with you guys in the future and helping each other out even more!!

Wow, I didn’t realize Sam was so close to catching up to Bible Money Matters. Way to go! This challenge has given you something him something of a boost.
Jeff, this is really cool what you have done – putting this carnival together. I tend to wonder how we find extra hours in the day to maintain our blogs. LOL.
.-= Money Funk´s last blog ..Menu Plan Monday: 21-Day Vegan Kickstart! =-.
Hi Funk, BMM is still the top dog but Sam is catching up. Peter has some really cool options for readers now. I love the Bible Money Matters app idea, the kindle reader app, and the new newsletter. We might all be able to follow in his foot steps and start to branch out into other ways for readers to keep up to date with our blogs.
This group is awesome. I hope everyone excepts the invites to the yakezie google groups. If you haven’t received one, drop LeanLifeCoach or FreeFromBroke a line to be added.
Awesome work, Jeff.
I’m excited to see where this group heads. It’s a great group of bloggers so I’m pumped to see the results!
Austin @ Foreigner’s Finances
.-= Austin´s last blog ..A Guide to Traveling Internationally with Credit Cards =-.
You are correct Austin this was a super idea the Samurai had. I’m just glad so many awesome people jumped head first into the challenge. Nobody really knew what was going to happen. I believe this challenge has exceded all expectations that Financial Samurai had when he first proposed the idea over a month ago. I know it’s exceded mine
If anyone in the challenge wants to guest post I’m more than happy to accept those relevant to my site. It’s a great way to get a few anchored backlinks from my site and get in front of a couple hundred people. You can find out more here:
http://www.plantingdollars.com/uncategorized/now-accepting-guest-posts/
.-= Ryan @ Planting Dollars´s last blog ..Why Ideas are Like Sperm =-.
For those of you who don’t know Ryan is a great model for how guest posting can increase your ranking. Ryan started Blogging in December 2009 and he’s already a HUGE success in this group!! When I think of guest posting I think of 4 people; Adam from Man vs Debt, Matt from Debt Free Adventure, and Ryan from Planting Dollars, and Daniel from Sweating The Big Stuff. These 4 guys have rocketed to success by busting their butts guest posting!!
I’m keeping this post open to check out some of the sites throughout the day…. I should get involved n some kind of carnival.
Thanks.

You’er welcome PT. Put your hat in the ring on the google groups. There is a sign up sheet there. The Yakezie group is turning into a really interesting place for learning and promoting, I love it.
Very, very nice collection, and wonderful idea to put all the posts in order according to Alexa ranking; it makes it easier to see who is where in the standings. As #35, I suppose I sill have a ways to go (although, since my Alexa ranking has increased nearly 150,000 rankings since this carnival, I think I’m on the right track). Again, great job, and thanks for all the effort that I know went into this.
Just keep working at it Roger, you are on track. As of writing the comment is see that your are at 347,732 excellent job young man.
Wow, thanks for this carnival!! And thank you for highlighting those of us who are still in the higher numbers. Appreciate it.
No problem WellHeeled, you are part of the crew. Keep up the great work on your blog and twitter. I always enjoy reading both
Well I have an Alexa Rank now, I guess I am that much more into this thing! And it has also moved down from 5,500,00+ down to 4,400,00+..I’ll take that… I’m still have 4 something million, but it’s a start!
.-= MyFinancialObjectives´s last blog ..Chile Earthquake =-.
I’m glad you have a ranking now. Don’t worry too much, you’ll be under a million soon enough. Good Luck.
