Yakezie Challenge Carnival –

by Jeffrey Kosola on February 28, 2010

Welcome to the Yakezie Challenge Carnival. The Yakezie Challenge was founded by Financial Samurai in order to help the average blogger to reach new heights. At the writing of this carnival their are 44 proud members of the group. Please visit the original post from The Samurai – Creating Powerful Friends: Samurai’s Alexa Ranking Challenge.

I’ve ordered the carnival from highest Alexa ranking to lowest. I think we should help out those higher in the group as much as we can. If you can’t get to all the articles listed below, please at least make it to #35 before leaving. These are the ones who can really use our help. If you are one of the blog owners from #44 to #35, get busy posting on your site. Also get busy guest posting on sites with lower rankings. Looking through all the comments on Financial Samurai, Sweating the Big Stuff, and Evolution of Wealth I think everyone here is open to help out.

I would like to send out a special thanks to Evolution of Wealth for hosting the Sunday Link Rodeo this past Monday. It was in the comments that everyone decided to have this Carnival. Another thanks goes to Eliminate the Muda for designing the Yakezie Badges, get one here. One last thanks to Financial Samurai and Sweating the Big Stuff for helping to put the Yakezie on coarse to kick butt. For the most current rankings, you can visit the Samurai Alexa Ranking Challenge Page for daily updates.

I hope everyone enjoys the Carnival. Next weeks Yakezie Challenge Carnival will be hosted by CJ Bowker

PS it’s 3:22 in the morning, I’ve just finished checking all the links. Some how I lost all my text widgets from my side bars. I apologize if the site doesn’t look perfect, I’ll have to fix it later – I hope :-(

Ryan, I really don’t think the word Slacker can be used in the same area code as you. You have done such a great job in only 2 plus months, you are an inspiration to me.

Carnival looks awesome, thank you for putting in the time. I hope you got some sleep last night. Thank you for the shout outs as well. We should all be thanking Financial Samurai for starting the trend and Sweating the Big Stuff for getting things rolling. Now I just got to find some time to start commenting.

Write a post about Scribe and let us know Jeff! I have no idea about that stuff too, just the basics. There’s a fee right?

Maybe you can write a “why sign up for scribe” or “how to post” for the Yakezies and others!

Dang, lotsa activity here! Nice! Hope those who’ve been listed and haven’t interacted much start getting more active!

You can sign up for the free trial. I think they give you 10 evaluations. Definitely a cool concept. Sounds like they might still be working out a few bugs. I’ve done a couple and it’s already taught me some good stuff.

Reply

Jeffrey Kosola March 2, 2010 at 8:24 am

I buy the advanced version of Scribe on Friday. At the time the price was $27 per month. It’s now jumped up to $97 for the advanced version which gets you 300 reviews per month. Most of us will not need that many, but the price was right at the time. Even if you only use it for a month or two, I think the lessons learned will be worth it. I learn by doing, and it helps you DO the changes – that’s my favorite part of the plug-in. I’m not sure about the free trial, I don’t see it on the site anymore :-( but that doesn’t mean I know what I’m talking about :-)

Good luck putting together the post for Sunday, it’s a ton of fun my friend…

Jeffrey Kosola March 2, 2010 at 8:19 am

Ok Sam, I’m going to play with scribe this week and see what happens. My goal is to rework two of my popular posts; How to create sinking funds and How to adjust tax withholdings. I get many few hits from google everyday on these posts. I’m going to study the effects from using scribe to revamp the posts and see what gains I get. If nothing else, the plug-in makes you really think about SEO when writing. I’ve already learned some cool stuff from it.
